In this two-part teaching, Khandro Kunzang will present eight important Mahayana Sutras that are recited to bring auspiciousness and blessings. Reciting Sutras is an age-old tradition in Buddhist cultures where families would sponsor practitioners to come to their homes to recite certain Sutras on auspicious days. According to Lama Dawa Rinpoche’s mirror divinations, there were eight Sutras from the Zung-Due collection that were frequently recommended for dealing wtih a variety of life situations. Khandro Kunzang will offer transmission and teachings on how to recite these Sutras. Unlike tantric ritual practices, these Sutras can be recited by anyone to bring great benefit.
This will be a two-part class. On class 1 (Nov, 6), Khandro will give teachings and transmission for the following four Sutras: Gyaltsen Tsemo, Chokchu Munsel and Tashi Tsigpa, (which are commonly recited together), as well as the Tse-Do Tse-Sung. On class 2 (Nov. 7), Khandro will give teaching and transmission on the following four Sutras: Khachu Nagpo, Gyanag Kagdok, Khorlo Barwa and Palchenmo.
All of these Sutras are available as free downloads on Saraswati Publications website: https://www.saraswatipublications.org/freeprayerssutrastexts/
